How to Watch MTV VMAs 2026 in Canada

The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards take place on Sunday, September 27, at 7:30 PM ET. The ceremony airs live on CBS and MTV in the U.S., while Paramount+ Premium streams it live.

For viewers in Canada, Paramount+ is the platform to watch closely, but the Canadian service has not clearly confirmed the same live-stream access yet. If the live VMAs stream is unavailable on Paramount+ Canada, Canadians can use a VPN with Paramount+ U.S. Premium to watch the ceremony live.

The VMAs 2026 become available on demand from September 28 for Paramount+ subscribers on all plans in supported markets.

Are the MTV VMAs 2026 Available in Canada?

The MTV VMAs 2026 are not yet clearly confirmed for live streaming on Paramount+ Canada.

Paramount+ Canada has carried VMAs content before, but its Canadian page has not yet been updated with a firm 2026 live-stream listing. For now, the confirmed live options are CBS, MTV, and Paramount+ Premium in the U.S.

If Paramount+ Canada does not add the live ceremony, Canadians can still use the U.S. Paramount+ route with a VPN.

How to Watch VMAs 2026 Live in Canada on Paramount+

• Subscribe to a reliable VPN with U.S. servers. I recommend NordVPN.
• Install the VPN app on your device and connect to a U.S. server.
• Open Paramount+ U.S.
• Sign in with a Paramount+ Premium subscription.
• Stream the 2026 MTV VMAs live on September 27.

Can You Watch VMAs 2026 on Hulu for Free in Canada?

Yes, potentially. Hulu + Live TV carries CBS and MTV, so it can be used to watch VMAs live in the U.S. Eligible new subscribers may also get a Hulu + Live TV free trial, making it a useful option for watching the VMAs without paying for the first trial period.

From Canada, you would need to connect to a U.S. VPN server and use a compatible Hulu account. Free-trial availability can vary, so check Hulu’s current offer before signing up.

Can You Watch VMAs on MTV in Canada?

Yes, but MTV U.S. is the relevant live option. The 2026 VMAs will air live on MTV in the U.S. on September 27 from 7:30–9:30 PM ET, simultaneously with CBS.

From Canada, you can use a VPN with a U.S. live-TV service that carries MTV and an active subscription to watch the ceremony live.

Paramount has also confirmed that the VMAs will be available globally the next day on MTV and Paramount+, although exact availability can vary by market.

Can You Watch VMAs 2026 on CBS in Canada?

The 2026 MTV VMAs will air live on CBS in the U.S. on September 27 from 7:30–9:30 PM ET, alongside the MTV simulcast.

CBS is mainly a U.S. broadcast option, so Canadian viewers should not assume the ceremony will be available through a Canadian CBS feed. If needed, you can use a U.S. live-TV service that carries CBS with a VPN.

For streaming, Paramount+ Premium remains the simpler U.S. option, since it will carry the VMAs live as well.

Can You Watch VMAs for Free in Canada?

There is no confirmed free Canadian stream of the full 2026 MTV VMAs right now. The live ceremony is officially available through CBS, MTV, and Paramount+ Premium in the U.S.

MTV does offer some free content through Pluto TV, but the full VMAs live broadcast has not been confirmed there.

A Paramount+ free trial, if available to a new subscriber in the relevant region, could provide a temporary paid-service trial route, but availability and eligibility can vary. I would not present it as a guaranteed free option.

For Canadians, the safest wording is: no confirmed completely free live stream yet; check MTV’s official YouTube/social channels for free red-carpet or pre-show coverage closer to the event.

Conclusion

The 2026 MTV VMAs take place on September 27 at 7:30 PM ET. Canadian viewers should first check Paramount+ Canada for local availability.
