How to Watch WAR Season 1 in Canada [2026]

Quick Answer: WAR Season 1 premieres on Crave in Canada on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET. The season has eight episodes, with new episodes streaming weekly on Thursdays. Canadians can watch through Crave without a VPN or a separate U.S. subscription.

Crave’s monthly plans cost CAD $11.99 for Standard With Ads and CAD $22 for Premium. Before subscribing, check whether your existing TV or streaming package already includes Crave.

WAR TV series stars Sienna Miller and Dominic West in a legal drama about a celebrity divorce that draws two rival London law firms into a bitter fight. If you are looking for the new HBO and Sky series, this guide covers the Canadian viewing route, subscription choices, release schedule and free-access options.

How to Watch WAR Season 1 on Crave in Canada

Crave is the officially announced Canadian streaming platform for WAR Season 1. You can prepare your account before the premiere, then look for the first episode when it becomes available.

Follow these steps:

1. Visit Crave or open its app.
2. Sign in to your existing account, or choose a subscription.
3. If your TV package includes Crave, use the provider sign-in option where available.
4. Search for WAR, checking that the listing features Sienna Miller and Dominic West.
5. Select Season 1 and the available episode.

Check your subscription details before purchasing through another service. An existing subscription may already give you the access you need, while a new purchase could create a second bill.

If the episode does not appear immediately, check the release time first. Before the premiere, a trailer or upcoming-title listing does not mean the episode is available to play.

How Much Does It Cost to Watch WAR in Canada?

The main choice is between Crave Standard With Ads and Crave Premium.

Crave Standard With Ads costs CAD $11.99 per month. Bell lists up to 1080p video and two simultaneous streams. This is the lower-cost option for viewers who are comfortable watching ads.

Crave Premium costs CAD $22 per month. Bell lists four simultaneous streams, downloads and up to 4K video on supported content and devices. Its on-demand HBO series are advertised as ad-free, although live channels and some other content can contain ads.

The “up to 4K” plan feature does not confirm that WAR itself will be available in 4K. Check the title’s playback details if picture quality is important to you.

Review the final checkout total, applicable taxes and any promotion conditions before paying. Provider bundles can have separate eligibility requirements, so compare the actual offer available to your account rather than assuming every advertised deal applies.

Can I Watch WAR Series in Canada Without Crave?

HBO Max in the U.S. is an alternative to Crave, with WAR Season 1 scheduled to premiere on October 1, 2026. Sky and NOW will also carry the series in the UK from October 2.

If you want to use HBO Max from Canada, you would need a VPN connected to a U.S. server and a valid HBO Max subscription. Your Crave account does not provide an HBO Max login, and a VPN does not replace the paid subscription. Check the service’s registration and payment requirements before subscribing.

Quick Steps: Watch WAR on HBO Max From Canada

1. Choose a VPN that supports streaming through U.S. servers.
2. Connect to a server in the United States.
3. Visit HBO Max or open its app.
4. Sign in with an eligible HBO Max account, or subscribe if you meet its registration and payment requirements.
5. Search for WAR (2026) and select an available Season 1 episode after launch.

HBO Max may detect and block VPN connections, so access is not guaranteed. For Canadians starting a new subscription, Crave remains the simpler option. The HBO Max route is mainly worth considering if you already have an eligible U.S. account.

WAR Season 1 Release Date and Episode Schedule

WAR begins on Crave on October 1, 2026, at 9 p.m. ET. Bell Media confirms a weekly Thursday release for the eight-episode season. It is a weekly rollout rather than a full-season launch.

For Canadian viewers, that means following the show week by week or waiting until the season finishes before starting a binge. Future episode dates should be checked against Crave’s listings in case the schedule changes.

The Canadian premiere falls on the same date as the announced HBO Max launch. In the UK, Sky and NOW have announced an October 2 premiere. Canadians therefore have a local launch route without needing to wait for the UK release.

Can You Watch WAR TV Show for Free in Canada?

No free legal streaming option for WAR show was verified in the research for this guide. The confirmed Canadian route is a paid Crave subscription.

Crave does offer a free catalogue, but Bell describes that catalogue as selected movies, shows and broadcaster content. A free Crave account should not be treated as proof that a new HBO series is included.

A trial or provider promotion is also different from permanent free viewing. Before using an offer, check:

• Whether it includes the Crave subscription needed for WAR.
• Whether you qualify as a new or returning customer.
• When the promotional period ends.
• What the subscription costs afterward.
• Whether renewal happens automatically.

Our Crave free-trial guide discusses potential routes to promotional access. Confirm any offer directly with the provider before relying on it, because eligibility and availability can change.

What Is WAR About, and Who Is in the Cast?

WAR follows the divorce of tech entrepreneur Morgan Henderson, played by Dominic West, and international film star Carla Duval, played by Sienna Miller. Their separation becomes a major legal battle between Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne.

Created by George Kay, whose credits include Lupin and Hijack, the series explores ambition, loyalty and the tactics used by lawyers representing powerful clients. Despite its title, WAR is a legal drama rather than a military series.

The principal cast also includes:

• Phoebe Fox as Serena Byrne.
• James McArdle as Nicholas Taylor.
• Nina Sosanya as Beatrice “Queen Bea” Ubosi.
• Pip Torrens as St John Smallwood.
• Archie Renaux as Jonathan “Johnny” Warren.

Celia Imrie, Nick Mohammed and Archie Panjabi also appear in Season 1.

Conclusion

Crave is the confirmed way to watch WAR Season 1 in Canada. Choose the subscription that suits your budget, check for existing access and follow the weekly episode releases. Before paying for a promotional offer or channel add-on, confirm its terms and the exact title listing.
